eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability. Our unique approach combines laser-cooled trapped ions with microwave control and tailored magnetic fields. Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future.
Your Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of highly skilled mechanical engineers, including experts in vacuum technology and cryogenic systems, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
Conduct regular check-ins and 1:1s to monitor progress, remove blockers, and drive team motivation
Lead & shape the technical strategy of complex quantum hardware projects in alignment with company objectives.
Oversee the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical components and systems for quantum devices
Manage the integration of various subsystems, including cryogenic, vacuum, optical, and electronic interfaces
Take a hands-on role during critical phases (approx. 20%, team management- 80%) while primarily focusing on team leadership
Understand and advise on technical challenges, escalate critical issues to the CPO when needed, and manage internal/external resources to address complex problems
Identify and mitigate technical risks, proactively seeking innovative solutions to challenges
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including quantum physicists, electrical engineers, and software developers
Establish and uphold best practices for design, documentation, and quality control
Job requirements
Required Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Strong track record of technical project leadership in R&D or advanced engineering environments, with clear impact on timelines, quality, and team alignment.
Demonstrable experience leading high performing engineering teams
Strong background in the design and development of complex mechanical systems, with a preference for experience in quantum hardware, cryogenics, vacuum systems, or precision engineering
Proven ability to coordinate technical efforts and manage resources across complex engineering tasks for timely and efficient execution.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in English, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
Familiarity with CAD software and simulation tools
