Job description

eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability. Our unique approach combines laser-cooled trapped ions with microwave control and tailored magnetic fields. Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future.

We are looking for a Senior Software Project Manager (f/m/d).

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Software Project Manager, you will lead the coordination of a cross-functional software development initiative for quantum computers. This is not a business or application software role - it requires technical depth, experience in platform software, and the ability to act as an intermediary between architecture, product, and development. Depending on your level of experience, you will work on one or more of the following tasks:

  • Own the agile planning and execution of the OS development project

  • Bridge the gap between the architecture team (target picture) and software development teams

  • Translate architectural goals into concrete requirements and ensure implementation

  • Coordinate deliverables across departments, track progress, remove blockers

  • Bring structure and clarity to complex, interdisciplinary development processes

  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Technical Architects

  • Facilitate communication and alignment across teams (Scrum / Kanban environments)

Job requirements

Required skills:

  • 3–7 years of experience in technical software project management or as a Scrum Master in a deeply technical context

  • Proven experience with system-level or embedded software projects (e.g., OS, platform, real-time systems, firmware, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of software development processes and architecture

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Hands-on experience with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.)

  • Fluent in English (German a plus)

We Value:

  • Background in physics, computer engineering, or similar

  • Experience working in regulated, high-tech or R&D-driven industries (e.g., aerospace, Medtech, semiconductors, automotive, robotics)

  • Familiarity with quantum computing or advanced computing environments

What you can expect from eleQtron:

  • Competitive salary: We value our team members and therefore provide remunerations that reflect this, additionally rewarding achievements.

  • Employee participation: Our team can share in the company's success through an attractive Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP).
